The State of Texas provides free amplified telephones to individuals who:
  • Have a diagnosed hearing loss, verified by a licensed Audiologist
  • Have difficulty understanding conversation on the telephone
  • Can provide proof of Texas residency (TX drivers license or TX photo ID)
If you meet these requirements come into our office today. We will help you complete the Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program application and mail it to Austin, TX for you. This program provides one free amplified telephone per address. You are eligible for a new telephone every five years. There are five phones to choose from, see below:
